How To Keep Pigeons Out Of The Barn

Pigeons love to go into the barn; unfortunately they can carry disease that may affect the animals inside. If you have seen them flying or nesting in there then you may be wondering how to keep pigeons out of the barn. Keep in mind that no matter what method you choose it should not affect your other animals. That means that the poison solution for the pigeons in the barn is out of the question. So if poison is not really an option, what can you do? The good news is that there are enough options to keep them out without harming horses or other barn animals.

You can always choose to trap the pigeons, but the problem with that is that they may always come back. The options that are most effective are the shock strips and exclusion. If you can find how they are getting in and cover the area with strong wire mesh you'll be able to keep them out. If they are roosting on barn beams then you should consider shock tracks or needle strips. Placing these items on your otherwise smooth beams will make it highly uncomfortable for the pigeons to land and roost. These two tricks are likely to help eliminate your problem of pigeons getting in your barn.
